Day break comes across the African sky

The heroes of adoption are not the adopting parents. The heroes are mothers and fathers who sacrifice.

The world is calling out in desperate need. The God of the universe has equipped and filled our pockets with the resources required to meet the need. The question, we individually must be prepared to answer is, what did you do with the gifts God has given? Except the question of salvation, there simply is no greater question facing our generation.

Technology, has changed the world we live in and our accountability. We can no longer say or claim we didn't know. The poverty, the diseased, the hurting and plight of orphans has been exposed for all to see. We all have a role to play and the time to act is now.  Please find a family or organization and make a difference this holiday season.  Thank you!

I am so thankful for each of you this Thanksgiving season! Please join our family in praying for Emmanuel's mother. We don't' know what's going on, but we long for her to be happy and make the right decision (either way) for her and E'man.

Writing provides an outlet for me and I'm thankful for the opportunity to share this one.

Day break comes across the African sky
A mother awakes to the gazes of her
children’s eyes across The room.
She tries to smile, yet the reality of the moment
Seizes her and fear falls over her.

She bows her head and begins to wonder
as tears fall from her eyes
It is the gaze of her children which break her heart
She searches for what she knows is not there

A nibble of bread, a few pieces of rice will do
None for her she professes
Just enough to feed her children will do
She searches for what she knows is not there

What is she to do?
A mother’s heart once filled with joy
Is now filled with sadness
The new born baby who brought joy
Is now starving in desperation

What is she to do?
She searches for what she knows is not there
Men come and go professing their devotion
Only to leave when life is a commotion
Alone in the silence she wonders
What is she to do?

She bows her head and begins to wonder
as tears fall from her eyes
It is the gaze of her children which break her heart
She searches for what she knows is not there

With sadness in her heart she begins to bath them
And with an extra special touch she tells each one
she loves them as only a mother could do
They walk the dirt trail hand in hand

She bows her head and begins to wonder
as tears fall from her eyes
It is the gaze of her children which break her heart
as she walks away from her children praying for a better life
for those she loves

Day break comes across the African sky
A mother awakes
She tries to smile, yet the reality of the moment
Seizes her and fear falls over her.
She searches for what she knows is not there

Praying that Emanuel and his birthmother are well. Adoption can be a hard roller coaster on emotions. Hoping your family will receive positive news whatever direction comes next in your lives.
