Good and Bad News


First, I/we want to say thank you for your thoughts, concerns, questions and prayers. You know going into this process it will be a long and complicated journey, but it’s really hard to properly prepare yourself for the roller-coaster ride. Emmanuel is not just a name or a little orphan boy in Africa. He is our son whom we love and desperately want home.

Adoption update: This week we learned that our in-country partner reported a positive meeting with the government. We pray that our paperwork will begin to resume processing at beginning of next week. We also learned the last sets of fees are more than we anticipated and are prepared for which was a big blow. We are looking at different fundraising options. Please let me know if you have any ideas. Contact me @ rcall4him@gmail.com. 

Jessica – returned to the University of Mobile yesterday for her junior year. Wow, hard to believe how fast time goes by. Jess is majoring in Intercultural Studies with a minor in Spanish. She will be busy this semester with 18 hr schedule.

Shannon – started her sophomore year at Pelham high and was named Captain of her cheerleading squad. Excitement continues to grow in anticipation of her first car in November, but if she was her wish it will be much sooner.

In the past few weeks, I have watched close friends and co-workers bury their loved ones and reminded of our frailty. We all have a destiny and how we chose to live dictates our eternity and our legacy.

Expecting

We are expecting! The journey continues...I am fasciated how God works through his people. I am so far of where I want to be spiritually, but yet he continues to use us. Over the past year, the Lord has challenged and even confronted me with his word. The question I have been wrestling with is... do I believe it...do I believe all of it? In short, I do! I believe every single word, period, adjective, noun...to be the inspired word of God. I often hear things like man wrote it or what about dinosaurs, or this or that....Have you read it? I am convinced you will never be person God wants you to be until you believe in the power of his word. Of course man wrote it... God has always also used men as his vessel. How would you expect him to write it? It truly humbles me that he would inspire men to speak through him then as he is now. Yesterday

As most of you know the adoption can be along difficult journey. We received an email yesterday from our adoptive country stating all adoptions have been suspend until further notice. The government is trying to change the law and require us to stay their for three months. We have no idea what this may mean for our blended family. We are deeply sadden but we know he is sovereign.
