Do you trust him and take him at his word?

When Jesus says I am the light of the world it is a statement about his Glory. The one who was, who is, and still to come! Let that sink in! The one who was there and spoke things into existence is the one who said “today you will be with me in paradise” and is very one who will stand at Heaven’s gate and welcome us home!

The light also exposes who we are:
We never see ourselves truly until we see ourselves in the context of Christ. It’s hard to admit or to look at ourselves in the mirror, but when we compare ourselves to Christ and what his word teaches we are confronted with our true selves. We are in desperate need of a savior. Unlike what the world thinks the bible has nothing to do with a list of do’s and don’ts but has everything to do with a loving devoted Father doing all that he can to protect his children (his creation).

The light also exposes the truth salvation.

There simply is no middle ground. No middle grounds on where we are with Christ or how should we live our lives. Salvation is about coming to terms with whom you are and who he is. Repentance is recognizing your sin for what it is and truly having a desire to replace those things that separate you from God with a life devoted to God. These things are not optional. People love to quote John 3 16 but the problem is there is also verses 19-21 which state 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God. 22 After this, Jesus and his disciples went out into the Judean countryside, where he spent some time with them, and baptized. Jesus, the Light, brings us to a place of peace. We gain peace because the burden of sin is lifted and the path through life and to our eternal home is clear as Jesus lights’ our path.
The light exposes the way Growth comes by being guided by the light of Jesus in us Jesus, who is also the Word, "is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path" (Ps. 119:105).

The light exposes the truth of Who is?
He is the light of world – When all else seems to fade and you feel all alone….He is there, when life throws everything at you…he is there…when you have nowhere else to turn…he is there….when you get the diagnosed or lose a loved one…he is there. In good times and bad times he is there. We do so many things wrong…yet somehow He is our biggest fan. There simply is no one like him! Do we take him at his word and trust him.
