What does a Biblical Marriage look like?

One of the joys of being a father is watching your girl's dreams come true! Yes, it's hard to let them go, but peace comes from watching them look at their spouses with pure love and joy.  We are thankful for all the family and friends who came to celebrate this day with our family.  Scott (Hunter's Dad) did an amazing job keeping Christ the center of everything.

Orphan No More!

November is Orphan Awareness Month!   As many of already know God led us to start the adoption process in 2011 and graciously Emmanuel came home 18 months later.   Our story is filled with struggles and miracles.   Most importantly, our story is a story of grace, mercy, and love as we saw God move throughout the process.   Thankfully, our adoption journey has been filled with joy and laughter!   http://touch1life.blogspot.com/2011/05/expecting.html

What are your reading right now?

One of the most commonly asked questions is "what's God's will for my life"?  The question sounds innocent enough, but do you really want to know the answer from a Biblical perspective?  Currently, I'm reading a book by a friend and Pastor David Platt.  Now, this isn't an easy read! However, it's important for us to truly consider making our lives count.   Here's a description from  Radical.net While trekking in the Himalayas, David Platt was shaken by the extent of human need he witnessed first-hand. In his new book Something Needs to Change, he addresses the extreme spiritual and physical need that he saw and the questions that he wrestled with along the way. Journey with him through some of the most remote and spiritually dark places in the world and allow yourself to come face to face with what it means to live out what we say we believe. Nepal 2019 Mini Documentary

Image
This year, our desire was to find an innovative way to help our prayer warriors, family, and church feel a part of this trip.  So, we recoded short videos along the way to give God glory and set the scene.  We saw so many miracles and supernatural events it's hard to put them into words or even in a video.  Recently, someone asked how many people came to know the Lord?  I'm not a big fan of numbers, but it was awesome to say I really don't know.  There were so many opportunities for our teams and those around us to share Christ in these unreached areas. I truly was blown away by God's faithfulness.  Thanks to our amazing National Partner we also had the opportunity to meet a variety of church planters who are doing an amazing job, including one area where we had biblical training last year.  Since that time, this young pastor has launched 3 more churches and a christian school which has over 50 students and 7 teachers.   We would love to share more with you and you

We want to thank everyone for thinking and praying for us during our recent trip to Nepal. This year, our goal was to find innovative ways to include you while highlighting how God is moving throughout Nepal.  The daily recaps will include short videos to help provide insight into what we were seeing and recaps of the events.  In the coming weeks, we will summarize everything in one video. Below are links to our videos and pics : Youtube videos Google Photo Album Daily Recaps: Day One: Our day began with attending Pastor’s Raju’s Church. Rob was humbled by the opportunity to speak on the role of the church in missions using Matthew 25 as the text. After lunch, we got a late start and had to drive part of the way in the dark as we climbed up the mountain. We drove for a little over five hours before arriving in our village. Driving up the Himalayas at night Arriving in the village Day Two: This is an important day!  Our first morning of Biblic

Time to go!

F irst, I want to thank you for joining us in prayer for this unique opportunity.  We leave this evening from Birmingham and arrive in Kathmandu (6 hours ahead) on Friday at 6 pm. I’ll save you the trouble that’s almost 40 hours of travel time. Let’s start with a huge praise report! The journey to Nepal started over six years ago. So, it’s amazing to see what God is doing. Two years ago, we went to our first unreached village and God graciously allowed us to witness a church be birthed.  A couple of days ago, we learned there are now 20 active believers and other attendees! This is despite the law going into effect that it’s against the law to convert someone.  This village is extremely remote. If interested, you can see pictures and video by visiting www.touchone.org. Last year, we had an opportunity to invest in biblical training for 45 passionate believers from various neighboring villages.  We prayed specifically for the last known unreached area in the distri

The sad truth...

We are a few days from heading back to Nepal.  The team is excited for the opportunity to serve along the local leaders who do an amazing job!  God is doing amazing things because of their faithfulness.  This year, we will work in dark areas where girls are being taken and sold into sex trafficking is a major issue.  Please continues to pray that God will reveal himself through dreams and visions to these dangerous men.  We are praying for a supernatural trip where God is glorified!   The trafficking of girls from Nepal into India for forced prostitution is perhaps one of the busiest slave trafficking routes anywhere in the world, with estimated 5,000-10,000 Nepali women and girls trafficked to India each year.  An estimated 100,000-200,000 Nepali trafficked persons are in India. Nepali girls are especially desirable as prostitutes in India because they are considered more attractive due to their lighter skin color, and because Nepali virgins are believed to be able to cure AIDS
